The Pittsburgh Steelers were simply leaving the group inn in Cincinnati on Monday, preparing for their early evening game against the Bengals, when word began to circle via web-based media about the demise of amazing Steelers linebacker and Pro Football Hall of Famer Kevin Greene.
Greene, who played with the Steelers from 1993-95, had an effect in Pittsburgh on the field, encouraging lead the group to a Super Bowl in 1995, and off, where he stayed a famous figure among the fanbase.
A portion of the current Steelers players took some time from their groundwork for the game to communicate their sentiments about his passing via web-based media.
"It's an Honor to Represent this incredible Number today for you and your family," protection end Stephon Tuitt, who wears Greene's previous No. 91 uniform, composed on Instagram. "I will make you all glad. Supplications to Kevin Greene a legend.
"So dismal to hear the information on Kevin Greene dying," protective lineman Cam Heyward composed on Twitter. "I possibly had a few associations with him however when we talked he generally talked with incredible energy and enthusiasm. May he find a sense of contentment and his family remain solid.
Previous Cincinnati Bengals hostile tackle Willie Anderson was Greene's partner at Auburn prior to confronting him for over twelve seasons in the NFL.
"I was simply saying, 'this man needs a sculpture at Auburn,'" Anderson composed on Twitter.
