SureFire Gaming Review Condor Claw Mouse + Axis Bungee USB Hub + Silent Flight 680 mousepad

There are several crucial things every PC gamer needs before they can get their game on and these include a gaming rig, a monitor and muse/keyboard combo, which are two of the most crucial peripherals for PC gaming. A headset is also very important for in-game immersion and for chatting to pals while playing online gaming, as well as a mousepad and a bungee cord holder if you use a wired mouse.
If you're a gamer on a tight budget and don't want to spend a fortune, you may want to consider the following gaming peripherals by SureFire Gaming. These include the Axis Bungee USB hub, Condor Claw gaming mouse and Silent Flight 680 extended mousepad.

The Axis Bungee USB hub consists of a bungee cord to hold the cable and a USB hub with 6 connectivity ports, one of which is a micro USB power-only port. The other ports include a standard USB-A port, a micro SD card slot and three high speed USB 3.2 gen 1 ports capable of up to 5Gbps speeds, which is basically USB 3.0 speeds. In fact, USB 3.2 Gen 1 is just a name re-brand for USB 3.0 and, it's not to be confused with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, which is the newest standard capable of up to 20Gbps.

The Axis Bungee USB hub can be bus-powered, running directly from a computer USB port, although when running all ports at the same time you will need to use the included 5V/2A power adapter, which provides 10 watts of power. The Axis Bungee USB hub weighs 186 grams and has a grippy rubber textured base to prevent it from sliding. The top shell is made of hard plastic with a gun metal finish.

Axis Bungee comes with a detachable 1.2 meters long cable, which has a USB-A connector at one end and a USB Micro B connector at the other end. The Axis bungee hub has a stealth aircraft design and measures 12cm long, 10cm wide and 2cm high.

The bungee cord measures 7cm high and 8cm deep and, it's made of flexible rubber and can be detached from the hub for transportation. The bungee cord slides snugly into the insert above the hub and stays in very tightly so, it's a bit difficult to remove once installed.

The Condor Claw gaming mouse has 8 programmable plastic buttons, three of which are located on the left side of the mouse. There is also the scroll wheel button and two more buttons located on the base of the mouse for controlling the DPI and lighting. Being that the Condor Claw is a gaming mouse the location of the DPI button is not the most convenient for on-the-fly adjustment. The DPI button could have been integrated behind the scroll wheel like on most gaming mice.

On the plus side, you won't have to run the software to change the DPI of the Condor Claw mouse, which you can adjust from six DPI levels (800/1600/2400/3200/4800/6400). Speaking of software, the Condor Claw gaming mouse is supported by a desktop software (Windows only), which is basic but lightweight (12MB). You can store two profiles, as well as create macros and remap buttons. SureFire Gaming includes a software CD too, although the Condor Claw software can be also downloaded online

On the bottom of Condor Claw mouse, there a couple of anti-skid feet and the opening for the optical infrared LED light sensor. There is no mention on the spec of which optical sensor the Condor Claw is equipped with. The IPS tracking (66 IPS) is listed and translates to a speed of 1.7m/s, which is a bit on the slow end. The mouse lags and stops tracking properly when making really sharp fast turns, although this is mainly an issue if you play competitive first person shooter games using 400 dpi and low sensitivity in-game.

The Condor Claw gaming mouse has three RGB light zones, which are located on the rear logo, scroll wheel and ring around the base. The scroll wheel is rubberized so, it's not as grippy as a textured rubber scroll wheel. The scroll wheel has a silent and linear actuation; hence the scrolling is smooth, not notched.

The Condor Claw mouse weighs 141 grams with the cable and 107 grams without the cable, which is non-detachable and semi-rigid. Being firm, the cable adds some resistance, which is why having a mouse bungee cord holder helps to minimize cable resistance.

The Condor Claw mouse measures 12cm long, 7cm wide and 4.5cm high (at the hump), which places the palm at a comfortable elevation so, the hand doesn't drag excessively on the mouse mat. The top surface of the mouse is coated with a rubbery smooth matte finish, while the sides are plastic and non-rubberized; hence not as grippy. The cable measures 1.5 meters long.

The last item on this review, it's the Silent Flight 680. It is an extended mousepad with an led ring light, running along the edge of the mouse pad. The lighting is controlled via a small plastic housing built-in to the top left corner of the mousepad and, it integrates a micro USB power port and a single physical button for adjusting the brightness level and changing the lighting pattern from solid color to color changing. There are a total of 14 lighting effects to choose from and, whichever lighting effect you choose it gets automatically remembered when powering off the mousepad, which is plug and play and bus-powered.

The Silent Flight 680 mousepad has a smooth polyester fabric surface (water resistant) and grippy surface underneath made of natural rubber. The mousepad comes with a USB-A 1.8 meter long cable. The Silent Flight 680 mousepad measures 68cm long, 28cm wide and 0.3cm thick and weighs 382 grams. If your desk is small, there is also a smaller version of this mousepad, which is half the length (32cm long). You can buy the Condor Claw gaming mouse, Axis mouse bungee hub and the Silent Flight 680 mouse pad from SureFire Gaming.

Edifier T5 Review Powered Subwoofer With RCA Passthrough

A subwoofer helps open up your stereo loudspeakers and make them sound fuller, richer and larger while taking a little bit of strain off your amplifiers! Compared to a regular loudspeaker though, a subwoofer doesn't look much different and technically it isn't since a subwoofer is basically a loudspeaker tuned to automatically play low frequencies. The Edifier T5 uses a 8 inch subwoofer driver enclosed inside an MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) housing with a wood veneer finish. MDF is a composite of real wood fibers and dense resin and, it's particularly popular for making speaker cabinet enclosures because MDF is strong and dampens vibrations much better than wood could. MDF doesn't shrink or enlarge either like wood does when it's warm or cold, which would compromise the air tight seal of the enclosure. The Edifier T5 enclosure seams are snug, buffed and perfectly aligned without any gaps or crevices. Metal fasteners have not been used for joining the enclosure p...
